BIRDSONG SCHOOL OF MUSIC
IS PROUD TO PRESENT MUSIC LESSONS

This Fall we are offering classes for: Piano, Keyboard, Guitar, Harp, and Ukelele. Early music and theory.

Private 30-Minute classes are offered weekly on Tuesday and Thursdays. Classes are held in The Dixie Carter PAC’s Lower Level, and the cost is $100 per month.

Students must provide their own instruments.  Piano is provided for the class.

Elemental Music teaches the basic principles of music.  This is accomplished by using music, movement, speech, drama, listening and imagination.  Our program is based on the Orff Schulwerk approach which has been tried and tested around the world for almost 100 years.

For children, we supply the tools and leadership to express themselves musically with rhythm, instrument playing, singing, drama, art and improvisation.  All this leads to a child that naturally progresses to read, understand music and apply their knowledge to their chosen instrument.

  • Birdsong School of Music is part of the London College of Music and can provide music exams for any that are interested to receive credit for their studies.

Birdsong Harp Center understands that music is a language and are dedicated to teaching students of all ages to speak (play), read and write this language.  Sheila Mitchell-Hart, founder, has been teaching music for over 25 years.  She has helped hundreds of students of all ages learn to play and enjoy their instruments.  Sheila's teaching methods are a unique blend of the aural tradition, classical approach, chording and a healthy dose of fun.
