Huntingdon’s
Historical Museum items on display at The Dixie!
The Dixie is announcing a new exhibit showcasing many items from
the former Huntingdon Historical Museum. This small selection of
Huntingdon artifacts has been loaned to The Dixie and will be on
display for several months beginning January 2009. The exhibit
includes many rare and historical photographs, Huntingdon High
School band uniforms, a spinning wheel, stained glass windows,
dishware, and fine collection of arrowheads. Some contributors
include The Aaron and Betty Clement Family, The Belew Family,
Patty Coleman, The Maddox Family, Bob Fry, Mary Belle
Montgomery, James McLemore, Judy Goodman, The Wright Family,
Charles Garland Demoss, The Clarence Norman Family, Barbara
Powell, Mrs. Amelia Ralls Favier, E. Williams, Ethel Mae
Hillsman Hunt-Nash, Frances Enochs Bush, Roselyn Espey, The
Townes Family, E.E. Pace, Jesse Pinckley, Ella Jane Webb
Vancleave, Melinda Popplewell, Virginia Goodrum, First Bank
(formerly Bank of Huntingdon), and Carroll Bank and Trust. The
exhibit is open during The Dixie’s normal operating hours and
during performances.
