Retrospective Exhibition of the Life, Time, and Works of Samuel
L. Clemens
The Bethel College Library – McKenzie
Throughout the month of November 2008, visit the Bethel College
Library to view a retrospective exhibition of the life, times,
and works of Samuel L. Clemens, best known by the pen name of
Mark Twain. Included in the exhibition will be a paddlewheel
boat model similar to the boat captained by Samuel L. Clemens.

Spend an evening with Dixie Carter and Hal Holbrook exploring
Mark Twain’s great novel, “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.” Dixie
and Hal will welcome David Kipen, the National Endowment for the
Arts Literature Director, to the stage of The Hal Holbrook
Theatre; they will read excerpts from the book and discuss the
cultural contributions of Mark Twain and his relevance in
today’s society.
