First Student Exhibition at MUDSLINGERS STUDIO – ANNEX OF THE DIXIE

girl on pottery wheelMudslingers Studio - Annex of The Dixie will hold the first student exhibit Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. Pre-K through adult students who have attended the first six weeks class during the spring semester will display the work they have created over the course. During this course students learned basic pottery skills of forming pinch pots, coil-building, soft and hard slab construction, and throwing on the potter’s wheel.  The students also learned various glazing and firing processes. 

boy on pottery wheelRegistration for the second session this spring semester is well underway. Registration, class fee, and materials fee is due Thursday, March 18. Classes will begin March 23 for Pre-K through 8th grade students and March 25 for high school and adult students. There will be a limit of 10 students in each class.

Pottery classes are conducted by Lori Neal Nolen. Mudslingers Studio is designed to provide a distinctive visual art education program that will empower youth to embrace a life of excellence and creativity through their artistic abilities and open doors to imagination and self-confidence. Visual arts skills are worthwhile, valuable life skills grounded in discipline and a work ethic that is crucial for any craft. The faculty is a professional who will provide a quality educational and artistic experience for each participant. Experience is gained by weekly classes culminating in an exhibition open to the public.
